Buy Claude Bernard Medal. Alfred Borrel.

Aluminum Medal, made by Alfred Borrel, commemorating the centenary of the birth of Claude Bernard, dated 1913. On the obverse is engraved the signature "A. Borrel "and the year 1913. Also has engraving" Deschiens Edit ", editor of the plate. On the obverse is the bust of Claude Bernard, well-known doctor and French biologist. On the back is engraved the inscription: "Claude Bernard. Né a St Julien (Rhone) 12 Juillet 1813. Mort a Paris 10 Fevrier 1878. Member of L"academie Française de l"academie des sciences de l"academie de medecine. Professeur au college de france at the faculty of sciences au museum d"histoire naturelle ". In the middle of the medal is engraved a tiny triangular "logo" with the letters "J" and "O" inserted in it, along with a word that could not be deciphered, and that could refer to "aluminum". This medal or plaque, is usually found with a lot of dirt, because the aluminum alloy from which it is made, attracts it and fixes it. This plate has been applied a delicate and expensive cleaning process, to be able to present its current appearance, avoiding to damage the patina of time.
