Nice pencil sharpener from Foreign, Patent APPL., Was manufactured between 1945 and 1965. Approximately. It conserves the original cover, although very deteriorated. On its small blind side, it has a wheel with the marks: F, M and S. corresponding to Fine, Media and Short. By turning it, it allows the mine to be long and thin.
At the back it has the inscriptions "PAT.APPL" "FOREIGN", In the lower right corner, it has a star-shaped contrast like logo, formed by the letters F, O, R, E, I, G, N. It has an original leather case.
The sides are striated, in order to improve their grip. In its front part it keeps its original blade.
This type of pencil sharpener was used by drawing professionals, such as architects or engineers, being therefore a high quality pencil sharpener. Because of all this, it had a high price and a relatively limited number of units were manufactured.
The patina that has the sharpener is very interesting, giving a very high quality appearance.
Very interesting as a collector"s item. Spectacular in an illuminated niche, with minimalist decoration.
