Ballpoint pen of the Anson brand, manufactured in the United States of America. It was the object of a gift from the foreign bank of Spain. We have not been able to locate the Anson brand ballpoint pen factory, so we think it may be missing now. The whole soul is made of hardened steel, and is treated externally with a bath of 18 carat gold, with the exception of its pointer, which is made of polished steel.
The cap has embedded in his head, what seems to be, by its appearance, a small tiger"s eye stone. The cap has the following inscriptions engraved: "Anson. 18K ". "Karatclad HGE". "Made in the USA". "Anson. 18Kilates". "Coated Kilates" "Made in the United States of America". "EXTERNAL BANK OF SPAIN". The Clip has the following inscriptions on its sides: "STEEL" "HARDENED" "Steel" "Hardened".
To extract the tip of the ink charge, or to retract it, the pen has a turning mechanism, activated by turning its cap. To change the ink load, the cap is removed under pressure.
The ink charge is released or adjusted to the rod, by screwing it with the thread on its head. An original load of Anson Med. Blue Refill ink is retained, even though it is completely dry. A new blue ink face has been installed, although it has no markings. For collectors it can be very interesting to keep an original load of Anson Med. Blue Refill ink, even if it is completely dry.
The Foreign Bank of Spain disappeared in the year 1991, which means that, this Pen is at least 27 years old.
