- Small Pewter sculpture representing a Monk, with a gesture of surprise or tiredness, in a subtle caricature representation of the character.
- We place it in the First Half of the S.XX. It is solid and made in one piece.
- The artistic quality is very good, with a magnificent result, highlighting its particular cartoonish proportions and the spectacular movement that its contemplation transmits.
- The sculpture is made in quite detail and carefully finished, with no surface damage.
- Preserves remains of a bathroom with the appearance of nickel or chrome. Although it has not been analyzed, in our opinion it is nickel, which has only been preserved in very few parts. This circumstance, together with the wear of the most exposed parts, provides it with a very attractive patina.
- At its base it has - what appears to be - the PELTRO Contrast, a reading that we have reached (in our opinion) despite not being well distinguished. Peltro in Italian corresponds to Pewter in English, an alloy of tin, copper, antimony and lead, so we have deduced that its origin is most likely Italian.
- Of this type of small sculpture, very few have been made with good artistic quality. This figure was part of a group of Monks with different positions. In fact, we have another figure with a posture of surprise.
