- Medal significantly rectangular of bronze, representing a seated couple, looking at a map in front of a landscape. Sculpted by Henry Dropsy, and issued in the first half of the 20th century for the Touring Club de France.
- The Touring Club de France was a French Club founded in 1890 by a group of cyclists whose objective was the development of tourism, disappeared in 1983.
- Without a doubt, the sculptor Henry Dropsy was a great artist. Coming from a family of sculptors, he won prizes in various competitions. He was a professor at the National School of Fine Arts, and was chosen as a member of the engraving section.
- Front: Represented by the high relief of a couple, sitting in the shade of a tree, while they comment on a map that he holds in his hands. In the background there is a beautiful landscape. In the lower right part it has the signature: "HENRY DROPSY".
- Back: The emblem of the Club Touring de France is represented in the centre, with the three initials "TCF" superimposed. Below the emblem the full name of the Club, and at the bottom of the plate, an attribution to R. Bosviel. On this part of the plaque was engraved the name of the person to whom the medal was attributed.
- A smooth edge with the inscription "CUIVRE" next to a small triangle.
- The artistic quality of the medal is very high and it is executed with great ease, achieving harmonious and expressive effects in the high reliefs.
- The passage of time, with its almost 100 years, has given the medal a precious patina.
Conservation and damage:
- Both the obverse and the reverse are in a good state of conservation, with wear and tear being observed in the most prominent parts.
- There are some small rubbings and blows, due to the time and the use.
