- Lockarno is a Swiss town and commune in the canton of Ticino. It is the third largest town in the canton.
- The inn depicted in the engraving is thought to be still active.
- All titles and signatures are outside the plate. The draughtsman is unknown.
- In the upper margin is the legend "Switzerland - Suisse".
- In the lower margin is the legend "Tuberge à Lockarno - Posada de Lockarno".
- The number "53" is printed in the upper right-hand corner, suggesting that the engraving is number 53 of a series.
- In the lower right corner, the Engraver signs only as Rouargue, so it is by one of the two Rouargue brothers. In our opinion, the author of the engraving plate is most probably Adolphe Rouargue (1810 - 1870).
- Chalcographic etching on steel plate, although another technique could also have been used.
- It is in single-colour black tone, very well inked.
