- Bregenz stands out for its originality of the clash between architectures between its most medieval part with the most avant-garde.
- Lake Constance is situated between the three European countries of Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Many rivers and streams flow into the lake, although the Rhine and it"s waterfalls are the most important.
- All titles and signatures are outside the plate. The draughtsman is unknown.
- In the upper margin is the legend "Switzerland - Suisse".
- In the lower margin is the legend "Bregenz, (Lac de Constance) - Bregenza (Lake Constance)".
- The number "26" is printed in the upper right-hand corner, suggesting that the engraving is number 26 in a series.
- In the lower right corner, the engraver signs only as Rouargue, so it is by one of the two Rouargue brothers. In our opinion, the author of the engraving plate is most probably Adolphe Rouargue (1810 - 1870).
- Chalcographic etching on steel plate, although another technique could also have been used.
- It is in single-colour black tone, very well inked.
- It is probably an engraving belonging to a book.
