- Engraving of the Kiosk of the Great Lord in Turkey.
- The engraving shows a palace on the banks of the Bosphorus, which is also known as the Great Lord"s Kiosk.
- All the titles and signatures are outside the plate.
- In the upper margin is the legend "TURQUIE - TURQUIA".
- In the lower margin is the legend "KIOSQUE DU GRAND SEIGNEUR À BÉBEK SUR LE BOSPHORE".
- The number "45" is printed in the upper right-hand corner, suggesting that the engraving is number 45 in a series.
- In the lower centre corner the director signs as Lemaitre Dir.
- Augustin François Lemaître: French engraver, lithographer, designer, publisher and photographer. He depicted many landscapes, monuments, architecture and people, especially during his many travels in Europe.
- Intaglio etching on steel, although a different technique could also have been used.
- It is probably an engraving from a book.
Conservation and damage:
- General condition: Regular.
- The ink is very good, and it has a good stamping.
- It is in single-colour black, with very good ink.
- The upper side of the paper is not parallel to its opposite side, resulting in an irregularly shaped engraving.
- The upper margin is scarce and irregular and the lower margin is scarce. The side margins are wide.
- The engraving has a thin paper of regular quality.
- The engraving is dirty, the edges are much dirtier, with very small tears, and the tips are slightly deteriorated with slight bends. It has small damp and rust stains.
- A light washing and bleaching would be a very good result.
