- Obverse: Allegory encouraging a young soldier, indicating a battle scene in the background, with the following inscription: "SI VIS PACEM PARA BELLVM" "PRO-PATRIA". The engraver"s signature appears: "PGRANDHOMME".
- Reverse: Lion lying down in front of the following inscription: "PRIX DU MINITRE DE LA GUERRE". In the background are military trophies and tools.
- On the reverse bordering the medal is the following inscription: "ENTRAINEMENT PHYSIQUE PREPARATION MILITAIRE" "FORCE COURAGE". The engraver"s signature appears next to the date: "GRANDHOMME 1911".
