- Engraving Gaulish Gods. Hercules and Boar.
- The engraving shows Hercules shooting a stag, and the second drawing shows a boar.
- All the titles and signatures are outside the plate.
- In the upper margin is the legend "FRANCE (Dieux des Gaulois) - FRANCE (Dieux des Gaulois)".
- In the lower margin it has the legend "1. Hercules striking down a Stag 2. Javali (Clay figurines)".
- In the upper right-hand corner is printed the number "32", which suggests that the engraving is number 32 of a series.
- In the lower centre corner, the director signs it as Lemaitre Dir.
- Augustin François Lemaître: French engraver, lithographer, designer, publisher and photographer. He depicted many landscapes, monuments, architecture and people, especially during his many travels in Europe.
- Intaglio etching on steel, although a different technique could also have been used.
- It is probably an engraving from a book.
Conservation and damage:
- General condition: Good.
- The ink is very good, and it has a good stamping.
- It is in single-colour black, with very good ink.
- It has good margins, both at the top and bottom, as well as on the sides.
- The engraving has a medium thick paper and regular quality, glued by the corners to another paper.
- The engraving is dirty, and the edges are much dirtier, with very small tears, and the tips are slightly deteriorated with slight bending. It has small damp and rust stains.
- A light washing and bleaching would be a very good result.
