Buy PAIR OF EMPIRE STYLE GOBLETS. BRONZE AND PORCELAIN. 19TH CENTURY

- Pair of imperial style goblets, sober and with pure lines, probably made in France, of cobalt blue glazed porcelain that could very well be from Sevres, and with gilt bronze finials.
- The goblets date from the second half of the 19th century. The Empire style developed between the end of the 18th and the beginning of the 19th century.
- Each goblet is made up of four parts: foot, neck, goblet and handles. The first three parts are joined together by a central threaded rod shaft. The two Handles are attached to the Cup by two small bolts at the top and a threaded shaft at the bottom.
- The foot has a square base, made of gilt bronze with a shiny patina. It is supported on four matte gilt-bronze legs in the shape of a feline's claw. The upper part of the foot has a matte gilt-bronze ring in the shape of leaves.
- The neck has a porcelain piece at the bottom and a bronze piece at the top.
- The Cup is made of porcelain glazed in cobalt blue, and has a gilded bronze cover on the inside, with a button to which the central axis of the Cup is screwed. On its upper outer perimeter is a bronze band, above which are four appliqués with a central female face surrounded by floral scrolls with filigree motifs.
- The vertical handles have the face of a faun at the base of the lower part.
- The cups are made with great care and attention to the smallest detail. The bronze is meticulously worked and chiselled. They have a fantastic patina.
- No markings, inscriptions or distinguishing marks have been found that could indicate the authors or manufacturers of such spectacular pieces.
