- Obverse has the Imperial Coat of Arms engraved in the centre, with dry volume, as can be seen in the Reverse detail photo. Around it is the legend "DEUTSCHE REICHS POST". Around the perimeter are floral motifs. In the two lower corners is the number 10. On the lower side is engraved "PFENNIGE".
- The reverse is clean, except that the postmark is visible.
- Vertical teeth:17. Vertical perforations:16.
- Horizontal indentation:14. Horizontal perforations:13.
- Circular postmark. The number "88" can be read in the centre, and in its perimeter "5" and "68" in a very diffuse way.
- Printed on fine paper of poor quality, very light off-white, made in red monochrome, good ink, good stamping and good centring.
