- Engraving Sea of Ice. Montanvert.
- The Sea of Ice is a glacier on the northern slopes of the Mont Blanc massif in the French Alps. At 7 kilometres long and 200 metres deep, it is the longest glacier in France.
- All the titles and signatures are outside the plate.
- In the upper margin is the legend "Mer de Glace - Sea of Ice - Mer de Glace".
- In the lower margin is the legend 'Montanvert - Montanrert - Montanvert'.
- The number "37" is printed in the upper right-hand corner, suggesting that the engraving is number 37 in a series.
- In the lower right corner, the Engraver signs only as Rouargue, so it is by one of the two Rouargue brothers. In our opinion, the author of the engraving plate is most probably Adolphe Rouargue (1810 - 1870).
- Chalcographic etching on steel plate, although another technique could also have been used.
- It is in single-colour black tone, very well inked.
- It is probably an engraving belonging to a book.
