- Engraving corresponding to Plate 32 of Civilisation, belonging to the Popular Illustrated Encyclopaedia of Sciences and Arts, made by Federico Gillman, and formed according to the Iconographic Encyclopaedia and the Conversations Lexicon of Germany.
- The engraving shows period costumes from the 17th and 18th centuries: Dutch costumes, French courtiers and ladies, the Berlin court, the Nuremberg councillor, the French revolution, etc.
- In the upper margin is the title "CIVILIZATION", and in the upper right-hand corner is printed "Lam. 32", which identifies it as Engraving number 32 of a series on civilizations.
- In the lower margin there are identifications of period costumes from different courts, Greek costumes, etc.
- Chalcographic etching on steel, although another technique could also have been used.
- It is in single-colour black tone, very well inked, centred with acceptable margins and with a good stamping.
- The fact that the engraving has a distinctive mark or contrast is of great importance in order to be able to identify data such as the engraver, the artist, the place where it was printed and other details.
