- The box is decorated with women from Greek mythology, all holding hands. Each one probably represents important goddesses of Greek mythology, Aphrodite, Artemis, Hera, Persephone, etc.
- The box has a lid and a cover on the inside. On the lid is Cupid or Eros, so called in Greek mythology, the god of amorous desire.
- The box is a large, elongated, tube-shaped box. All the characters are in relief, and the workmanship is very good. It is signed by the French sculptor Jean Baptiste Germain.
