- The plates that make up ‘España cómica. Apuntes de viaje' with drawings and verses alluding to each of the Spanish provincial capitals, were published in the illustrated weekly Madrid Cómico, between 16 October 1886 and 25 August 1888.
- The collection aimed to present a ‘parade of types and customs and landscapes’, ‘different people, various places, infinite things’, in short, a very diverse Spain.
- The engraving, executed in black and white, shows various figures dressed in traditional costumes of the area and of the period, and below each of them, a comical phrase. On the left-hand side, presiding over the engraving, is a sailor with the name of Alicante.
- The lithographer's name appears in the lower left-hand margin.
- On the reverse, the back, there are several texts written by Sinesio Delgado.
- This is a stone engraving, a lithograph. Lithography dates from the 18th century and consists of stamping a design that is previously made on a limestone with pencil or special inks, and then applying an ink that only adheres to the areas that have been treated with these materials.
- It is quite large, unframed.
