Buy SATSUMA PORCELAIN PLATE. JAPANESE. TAISHO

- Porcelain dish of Japanese origin, in the classic Satsuma style.
- We include it in the Taisho era (1912-1926).
- It is a beautiful golden coloured dish, with several characteristic Japanese figures. All hand-painted.
- The dish has a medium thickness, with a sound to the touch, made of white porcelain.
- The figures, painted in great detail, depict four men expressing aggression, against two women expressing patience.
- All the figures are intertwined by a dragon with scales in relief in white enamel.
- The white enamel is visible at the base, and the seal of the mark is stamped in its centre. This stamp includes a series of signs in gilding on a dark red, which probably identify the place of manufacture, the period and the name of the maker.
- After analysing the plate, we have come to the conclusion that the technique used is mixed, using decals on some parts and hand-drawing on most of the plate.
- All these characteristics that the plate has, provide a very interesting patina, with a very attractive and high quality appearance.
