- Engraving corresponding to Plate 4 of Architecture, belonging to the Popular Illustrated Encyclopaedia of Sciences and Arts, made by Federico Gillman, and formed according to the Iconographic Encyclopaedia and the Conversations Lexicon of Germany.
- The engraving depicts doors and entrances to various places, mainly in Greece.
- In the upper margin is the title ‘ARCHITECTURE’, and in the upper right-hand corner is printed ‘Lam. 4’, which identifies it as Engraving No. 3 in a series on architecture.
- In the lower margin are the identifications of the different entrances, walls and gates.
- Intaglio etching on steel, although a different technique could also have been used.
- The engraving is in single-colour black, very well inked, centred with acceptable margins and with good stamping.
- The fact that the engraving has a distinctive mark or contrast is of great importance in order to be able to identify data such as the engraver, the artist, the place where it was printed and other details.
