Buy ENGRAVING ARCHITECTURE 7. TEMPLE POSEIDON, JUPITER. PARTHENON.

- Engraving corresponding to Plate 7 of Architecture, belonging to the Popular Illustrated Encyclopaedia of Sciences and Arts, made by Federico Gillman, and formed according to the Iconographic Encyclopaedia and the Conversations Lexicon of Germany.
- The engraving shows various ruins, as well as small plans of certain parts of temples, such as the temple of Poseidon, the Parthenon at Athens, the temple of Aegina, Ceres at Paestum, the Doric order of the Parthenon, etc.
- In the upper margin is the title ‘ARCHITECTURE’, and in the upper right-hand corner is printed ‘Lam. 7’, which identifies it as engraving number 7 of a series on architecture.
- In the lower margin are the identifications of the different temples.
- Intaglio etching on steel, although another technique could also have been used.
- It is in single-colour black, very well inked, centred with acceptable margins and with a good stamping.
- The fact that the engraving has a distinctive mark or contrast is of great importance in order to be able to identify data such as the engraver, the artist, the place where it was printed and other details.
