- It represents a young warrior with a shield. In your hand you hold a bow and arrows are attached to your waist.
- There is a finely detailed, highly calibrated ejection. It is signed, and has the signature on the base, on one side: 'DEBUT'. On the left side, there is a small plaque that reads: "Young Warrior - For Debut) Prix de Rome."
- Also stamped: Delarue, maker of artistic bronzes in Paris (1878-1908)
- Jean Didier Debut (1824-1893), 19th-century French sculptor. He is primarily known for his bronze sculptures, many of them with Orientalist themes or referencing classical and historical subjects. He is characterized by his realism and his interest in depicting contemporary life, France's glorious past, and the exotic cultures of the time.
