Buy TILE FROM IZNIK FOR THE JEWISH COMMUNITY. 19TH CENTURY.

- A very rare and beautiful square tile, probably of Iznik origin.
- It has a simple and very elegant design. It was made for the Jewish Community, and thus, within a lobed circle, one can see a plant divided into seven vertical branches like ears of wheat, emulating the seven-branched Hebrew candelabra.
- The branches are green in two shades, with small purple accents. At the top, there is a white area that simulates the light of the candelabra when they are lit. It is surrounded by a series of white plants with touches of green and purple. The entire background is the typical Iznik blue.
- The circle is topped with a lobed green band. The corners formed by the circle and the sides of the tile are finished with green designs.
- All the designs are outlined with a very fine black line.
- At its base, in white, ancient Hebrew script, influenced by Arabic writing, reads:
- *???? ?????*
- Literally: *Tveria Kinneret*.
- The Hebrew name (?????) *Tveria* refers to the city of Tiberias, a historical city on the shores of the Sea of Galilee.
- The Hebrew name (????) *Kinneret* refers to the Sea of Galilee.
