DEVOCIONARY NOVISSIMO DIAMOND OF THE CHRISTIAN. MISAL. 1862

Description:
- Book, written in Spanish, devotional. The Christian's newest diamond containing the divine hours, daily exercise, maxims of Saint Teresa, Week of Prayer, Ordinary of the Mass and exercises for before and after confession and communion. The Holy Week and other useful prayers for the faithful.
- It is a missal, in the Art Nouveau style, made of fine leather and decorated with superimposed bone elements. The clasps are whole and complete, made of brass, with Art Nouveau decoration.
- The book is profusely illustrated with eight steel engravings, outside the text and of magnificent quality and execution, probably by Antonio Roca. There are also four chromolithographs, outside the text and signed by Gustavo Sanier.

Book Description:
- Sewn binding of very good execution, with guillotined and gilt cuts, from the Second Half of the 19th Century.
- The text and illustrations are in single-colour black printing, except for the chromolithographs which are in colour, very good ink, with good stamping, well centred and with good margins.
- Book printed on thick paper, of good quality.
- Brown leather covers, and decorated with bone elements.

Conservation and Damage:
- General Condition: Very Good.
- Sewn binding in very good condition.
- Only the onion paper and some engravings have small rust stains.
- The front flyleaf is missing.
- All cuts are gilt, and remain in perfect condition.
- The text pages are in good condition, with no tears or stains.
- The binding is complete and works perfectly.
- The book has not suffered external aggressions such as humidity, insect attacks, rodents, etc.
- The book shows wear and tear typical of it’s age.

Comments:
- Both the Measurements and the Weight are approximate.
- In order to take the photos of the inside pages, they have been held with tweezers.
- Very interesting book as a collector's item and curiosity.
- The tones of the colours of the photos are not exactly the same as the tones of the real colours.
