Description:
- Silver coin of Isabel II, 1 Real, 1853. Barcelona-Madrid-Seville.
- Obverse: Profile bust of Queen Isabel II, with the legend “ISABEL II BY THE GRACE OF GOD AND THE CONSTITUTION 1853” around the edge of the coin. A dot is engraved on either side of the year.
- Reverse: Crowned coat of arms of Spain of the period, with six quarters. One central oval quarter, with three fleurs-de-lis. One quarter, triangular in shape, features a pomegranate in the center of the lower side. The other four quarters alternate between a tower and a rampant lion. The legend “REINA DE LAS ESPAÑAS” (Queen of Spain) is inscribed around the perimeter. Two small stars are located at the base of the shield. The number “1.” appears on the left side, and “RL.” on the right.
- Edge: Reeded, well-preserved.
- No other markings, marks, or hallmarks have been found that could provide further information about this coin.
Conservation and Damage:
- Its condition is BC (Good Condition)
- With considerable wear. In our opinion, it needs cleaning, as the patina is very uneven.
