ENGRAVED PHYSICS PLATE 8 GRAS. AND Cª. MAGNETS, COMPASSES, MAGNETOMETER, ETC.

Description:
- Engraving corresponding to Plate 8 of Physics, belonging to the Popular Illustrated Encyclopaedia of Sciences and Arts, made by Federico Gillman, and formed according to the Iconographic Encyclopaedia and the Conversations Lexicon of Germany.
- The engraving shows magnetic poles, magnetic beam, map of magnetic declination, magnetic disturbances, etc.
- In the upper margin is the title 'PHYSICS', and in the upper right-hand corner is printed 'Lam. 8', which identifies it as Engraving No. 8 in a series on physics.
- In the lower margin are the identifications of the different apparatus related to physics, such as magnets, suspended magnetic bars, magnetic needles, magnetic polarisation, etc.
- Intaglio etching on steel, although a different technique could also have been used.
- Made in monochrome black and full colour, very well inked, centred with acceptable margins and with good stamping.

Conservation and Damage:

- The engraving is on medium-thick paper of fair quality.
- The paper is somewhat dirty with small rust stains, mainly in the upper left corner.
- The engraving has small tears and creases at the edges and tips.
- If a cleaning is applied to it, the result could be very acceptable.
