ENGRAVING CIVILIZATION PLATE 12 GRAS AND Cª ASSYRIANS. DAGON. ASTARTE.

Description:
- Engraving corresponding to Plate 12 of Civilisation, belonging to the Popular Illustrated Encyclopaedia of Sciences and Arts, made by Federico Gillman, and formed according to the Iconographic Encyclopaedia and the Conversations Lexicon of Germany.
- The engraving depicts various Assyrian elements and gods, such as Feroher, Nisroch, cuneiform inscriptions, scenes from Assyrian life, etc.
- In the upper margin is the title 'CIVILISATION', and in the upper right-hand corner is printed 'Lam. 12', which identifies it as engraving number 12 in a series on civilisations.
- In the lower margin are the identifications of the different Assyrian scenes and gods, such as Shalmaneser III, altars for the cult of fire, Nergal, etc.
- Chalcographic etching on steel, although another technique could have been used.
