- Engraving representing a man walking and carrying some documents, by Salvator Rosa.
- It is an engraving from the figurines series, originally called 'Diverse figure' or 'Capricci'. It depicts various types, soldiers, male and female figures and mythological subjects. He was a multifaceted artist, active in various fields.
- Its author is the 17th century Italian painter, poet and engraver Salvator Rosa (1615-1673). He worked in Naples, where he came from. He is known as rebellious and extravagant. His most popular and influential series is the Figurines.
- Intaglio etching on copper plate, printed on good quality paper, in single-colour black tone, very good ink and very good printing.
- On the lower left-hand side is his signature, a monogram with the letters S and R, which correspond to the initials of his full name: Salvator Rosa.
- By means of extraordinary artistic quality and execution, as well as great skill, an effect of strength and great liveliness has been achieved, dominating the chiaroscuro.
