MEDAL SANTIAGO MATAMOROS. SILVER. 20TH CENTURY

Description:
- Semi-circular medal, made in silver. Probably end of the first half of the 20th century.
- Medal with flat handle and original ring. Plain edge without any inscription.
- Obverse: Santiago Matamoros.
- This is the name given to the iconographic representation of the apostle Saint James the Greater, when he is depicted as a knight in combat as described in medieval chronicles, according to which he miraculously intervened on behalf of the Christians against the Muslims during the battle of Clavijo in 844.
- Reverse: Plain with no inscription.
- It has the contrast of silver 925 thousandths.
- It is of great importance that the object has a distinctive mark or contrast in order to be able to identify data such as its maker, the place where it was made and other details.

Conservation and Damage:
- The Medal is in very good condition.
- There is not much wear and tear, and the quality of the high relief is good, both on the obverse and on the reverse.
