Description:
- Used postage stamp, from Germany.
- Obverse has a coat of arms with a character engraved in the centre. This character seems to have the index and middle finger of his right hand stretched out, while holding a book in his left hand. The lower part of the shield bears the legend 'DEUTSCHE REICHS'. Lobular themes develop around the perimeter. On the underside is the legend '2 MARK 2'.
- The reverse is clean, except that the postmark is slightly visible.
- Vertical indentation:21. Vertical perforations:20.
- Horizontal indentation:16. Horizontal perforations:15.
- Circular unreadable postmark.
- Printed on medium thick paper of good quality, very light off-white, made in dark violet monochrome, very good ink, good stamping and good centring.
- No distinctive, mark or contrast has been found, which could give more information about this Postal Stamp.
Conservation and Damage:
- General condition: Very Good.
- The stamp has been recently washed and therefore the gum is missing.
- The paper is clean and has no rust.
- Toothed well preserved.
- On the reverse of the stamp there is a slight wrinkle on the left side, which is not reflected on the obverse. Also, on the reverse there is a tiny inlay of an impurity in the centre, which is not reflected on the obverse.
- There are no other faults or breaks on the stamp.
- The Postal Stamp shows the deterioration typical of it's time.
