- The book, written in Spanish and illustrated by E. Lechard. Contains numerous very nice engravings.
- Most of the engravings are covered with pink onion paper.
- Chapter letters at the beginning of each chapter and watermark at the end of each chapter.
- The author, Manuel Angelón, studied law, but devoted himself entirely to the cultivation of literature. Director of the Gaceta, he took part in several editorial offices and wrote some important works.
- The book is profusely illustrated with engravings by E. Lechard.
- Volume I contains eight engravings. Volume II contains 10 engravings. Volume III contains 22 engravings.
- It has a deluxe binding of the period, in colour.

- Text and illustrations in single colour printing in black, very good ink, well centred and with good margins.
- Book printed on medium thick, good quality, white paper.
- Hard covers in full chocolate brown publisher's cloth, with colour stamping and gilt lettering on both front and back covers.
- Spine in full brown publisher's brown cloth, with colour stamping and gilt lettering.
- Covers are discoloured due to age and use, with some rubbing to edges and corners.
- The cover is stamped in gilt 'Misterios del pueblo. Barcelona. D.I López. Editor'.

Conservation and Damage:

- Sewn binding in good condition.
- Cuts sprinkled with fine specks, well preserved and with minimal soiling.
- The pages are in good condition, but some of them have light creases and folds, soiling, rust stains and damp.
- Pages are slightly darkened at the edges due to age, some pages darker than others.
- The tips are slightly deteriorated with light creases and folds.
- The book has not suffered external aggressions such as attacks by insects, rodents, etc.
- The pages are in very good condition, with the following exceptions:
* Page 643 of Volume I has the corner about to tear.
* Page 489 of Volume II has a small tear at the top.
* Page 593 of Volume II the edge of the page is folded inwards, it is not guillotined.
* Page 49 Volume III has a torn lower corner.
