Description:
Beautiful Myanmar Bowl or Thabeik, made with a white metal alloy, which may contain silver, an end that can not be guaranteed because its composition has not been analyzed. It is made of one piece, with a high relief embossed and chiseled that occupies all its side. In the center of the bottom face of its base has an inscription, probably of the artisan that realized it. On its edge has the mark of a punch, in which you can glimpse a five-pointed star. The images represented in this type of pieces, generally are related to stories or legends Burmese and its personages. This kind of bowls used to be used by Buddhist monks to solicit alms. These small bowls were also used to make offerings, as well as to carry out small ablutions and libations. It is in very good condition, considering its time and characteristics. It is quite rare to find because of its small size. This type of bowl has been elaborated from ancient times to the present, and with the most diverse materials, giving them different possible uses, including decorative. Very interesting as a piece of collection.
