Description:
- Brass pencil compass, from the second half of the 19th century.
- A pencil is attached to the compass, which is adjusted by means of a threaded ring. It bears the inscription 'HELIX REGISTERED MADE IN ENGLAND'.
- Very few compasses of this type have a mark, as they were normally intended for schoolchildren, and were of very poor quality, whereas the one in question is made to a high degree of perfection.
Preservation and damage:
- The preservation is very good, especially the steel tip, which has no rust. The patina of the brass is perfect and admirable.
- It is complete and the tip is not bent. It is rare to find with this quality.
- Completely clean and in perfect condition for use.
- The Object shows wear and tear typical of it's age.

Comments:
- Both the Measurements, as well as the Weight, are approximate.
- Very interesting as a collector's item and as a decorative element.
- The tones of the colours in the photos are not the same as the tones of the real colours.
