Description:
- Instrumental plumb bob from the second half of the 19th century, with a solid bronze weight and an iron tip.
- The body of the weight is cone-shaped, 8,2 cm. high and 3,9 cm. in diameter, with a threaded head.
- The thread is of medium size and large diameter, with medium thread and pitch.
- The bronze weight is cone-shaped. On the top of the head there is a fluted band, which gives it an elegant and harmonious touch.
- No distinctive mark or contrast has been found that could provide information on where it was made, the maker's details, or any other information.
- The plumb bob was probably made in southern Europe.
Preservation and damage:
- The plumb bob is in a good state of preservation, although the weight has many, but very minor knocks and scratches.
- It has a very good and beautiful patina all over the plumb bob. The quality of the iron casting and the execution of the plumb bob is good.
- The Plumb bob shows wear typical of it's age.
