Description:
- Bronze sculpture, from the second half of the 19th century of a girl with a basket of flowers in one hand and flowers in the other.
- Signed by the author, Ernest Rancoulet (1842-1915), he was a French sculptor known for his allegorical, mythological and figurative bronze statuettes and portrait busts. His sculptures were purely classical in style, but with Art Nouveau elements. They are highly prized for their realism, grace and intricate detail. He mainly produced his sculptures in limited editions.
- The artistic quality of the sculpture is good, maintaining a beautiful patina. It has good proportions.
- Made of calamine, it has small flaws in the paint, in some areas it has peeled off.
- The sculpture is signed on the base, ‘Rancoulet’.
- It is of great importance that the object has a distinctive mark or contrast, in order to be able to identify data such as its author, the place where it was made and other details.

Conservation and Damage:
- The sculpture is in a very good state of conservation.
- It has small knocks and scratches due to age.
- The piece shows the wear and tear of it’s time.
