Description:
Beautiful compass box from the first half of the 19th century, but it could be from the second half of the 18th century. The small mustache holder has a brass sleeve which might not be original. The case is complete, except for the instrument for tightening the heads of the compasses. The extension bar is broken. The steel of the instruments is rusted. It has three angle-holders, a bone ruler, a paralex, a carbide holder and a stylus holder with 6 nibs. The back of the box has a label reading 'Collignon'. This type of drawing instrument became popular in the second half of the 19th century.
