Description:
- Filigree tray of the second half of the 19th century.
- Made in metal, it has no dies or punches.
- Filigree is a goldsmith technique, used in handmade jewellery. It is related to the decorative arts, and is made with very fine metal, gold or silver threads that form a lace-like pattern. Interwoven smooth or twisted threads are used, using pliers, very small drops or a combination of the two, welded together or soldered to a sheet of metal.
- The small tray or saucer consists of a 13-pointed star, made with a beautiful filigree pattern simulating floral and geometric lace, with a small golden ball in the centre.
- The base is supported by three ball feet. It could be a filigree from Toledo, but we are not sure.

Conservation and Damage:
- The tray in question is in very good condition, with no cracks or damage.
- It is complete, and maintains a spectacular lustre and patina of the period.
- It shows the wear and tear of it
