Description:
Beautiful figure of Bacchus and Ariadne. This is a nice figure made in the first half of the nineteenth century. Bacchus and Ariadne is a mythological legend, in which Ariadne was abandoned by Theseus on an island. The Bacchus God appears and falls in love with her, giving her a crown of gold, which later became constellation, giving the name of Corona Borealis.
It is a curious and beautiful figure, which represents the love of Bacchus by Ariadne.
It is quite rare to find sculptures of mythological scenes like this, what gives value as curious collectors item.
It can be used as a decoration.
At the moment it is performing a cleaning process. This is a soft material, probably tin and / or mixed with other white metals, such as nickel, antimony, zinc, lead etc.
