- The engraving shows a scene from the Last Judgement of Saint Dionysius.
- Saint Dionysius, also called the Apostle of Gaul or the Headless Saint, was the first bishop of Paris where he was martyred along with his two companions, during a persecution prior to that of Diocletian.
- All the titles and signatures are outside the plate.
- In the upper margin is the legend 'France XIIIºS - France Sº.XIII'.
- In the lower margin is the legend 'Jugement dernier' - 'Last Judgement (Plate from the Breeviary of Saint Denis'.
- In the upper right-hand corner is printed the number '333', which suggests that the engraving is number 333 of a series.
- In the lower right-hand corner, the engraver signs it as Lemaitre (Augustin François Lemaître).
- In the lower left-hand corner, the draughtsman signs as Vernier, del.
- Augustin François Lemaître (1797-1870). French engraver, lithographer, designer, publisher and photographer. He depicted many landscapes, monuments, architecture and people, especially during his many travels in Europe.
- Intaglio etching on steel plate, although a different technique could also have been used.
- Produced in a single-colour black tone, very well inked.
- It is probably an engraving belonging to a book.

Conservation and Damage:
- General condition: Good.
- It is very well inked, and has a good stamping.
- The lateral margins, top and bottom, are wide.
- The engraving is on thin, regular quality paper, glued at the corners to another paper.
- The engraving has small rust spots.
- If it were lightly washed and bleached, the result would be very good.

Comments:

- Ideal engraving as a decorative element.
