Description:
- Used 4-cuarto postage stamp from Spain, dated 1860. Orange in colour.
- On the front, inside an orange circle, there is a bust of Queen Isabella II facing left in white. At the top, the word “CORREOS” is written in orange inside a ribbon. At the bottom, the words “4 CUARTOS” are written in orange. All of this is surrounded by watermarks.
- It has a very small 1 mm tear on the left side.
- The upper left corner is folded.
- Illegible circular postmark.
- The postmark shows through on the reverse.
- Vertical: No perforations. No perforations.
- Horizontal: No perforations. No holes.
- Printed on medium-weight, good quality paper, very light orange, in a single orange tone, very good ink, good printing and well centred.
- No distinctive features, marks or contrasts have been found that could provide further information about this postage stamp.
Conservation and Damage:
- General condition: Poor.
- There is a very small 1 mm tear on the left side.
- The upper left corner is bent.
- The stamp has been recently washed, so it does not retain its gum.
- The postage stamp shows deterioration typical of its age.
