Beautiful pocket tape measure. It has a double scale, on the one hand a 2 cm, and a 72-inch English, on the other. In one of the sides has the following inscriptions: Holtzapffel & Co. 64 Charing Cross. London. - Rd. No. 943. We have sought references from this inscription, and come from an English firm of lathe makers and manufacturers of high quality tools, which began their journey in 1794. Subsequently, their son inherited the business (1806-1847) Put the name of: Holtzapffel & Co, located at 64 Charing Cross. London. The belt has no brake, picking up by spring as soon as it is released. In the photo a mini clip has been used to hold it. On the side of the inches, has LONDON engraved at the beginning of the scale. It is a rare and very interesting piece as a collection piece.
