MINIATURE SCULPTURE OF A WOLF. CHRISTOPHE FRATIN.

Description:
- Magnificent miniature sculpture by Christophe Fratin, outstanding animalist, both in small and large sculptures. It is signed with the "FRATIN" badge, inscribed in the mold and located in a corner of the base. He is curious to have the "N" inscribed in reverse.
- Fratin organizes in 1849 the first public sale of 450 of his sculptures, which shows that he developed a large production beforehand, so there are many possibilities that this piece was already made.
- The sculpture is solid and is made in one piece, probably with the exception of the base, which apparently is welded to the legs.

Conservation and Damage:
- The artistic quality is very good, with a magnificent result, highlighting its proportions and the spectacular movement that conveys its contemplation.
- The sculpture, which has no defects in execution, is made in quite a bit of detail, taking care of its casting, finishing and finishing in all aspects.
- It has remains of what could be an old silver bath, which has been almost completely lost. This circumstance, together with the wear of the most salient parts, gives it an exceptionally beautiful patina.

Comments:
- Both the Measures, and the Weight, are approximate.
- This type of miniature sculpture are quite rare to find.
- Very interesting as a collection and decorative piece.
- Spectacular in an illuminated niche, with minimalist decoration.
- Due to the fact that it is inevitable the differences of tones between photos and reality, it should be kept in mind that the tones of the colors of the photos are not exactly the same as the tones of the actual colors.
- The piece presents the wear and tear of its time, as well as some stains. It has small flaws.
