Description:
- Bronze medal, issued in the year 1976, commemorating the seventh centenary of the death of Jaime I, King of Valencia, in the year 1276.
- Obverse: The scene of the death of Jaime I is depicted, in his rooms, surrounded by the closest people.
- Obverse: On its perimeter it has the legend IACOBUS I - REX ARAGONUM. REGNI VALENTIAE FUNDATOR - AB EIUS OBITU ANNI DCC (JACOBO I vs JAIME I KING OF ARAGÓN FOUNDER OF THE KINGDOM OFVALENCIA 700 YEARS OF HIS DEATH)
- Reverse: Jaime I is crowned, mounted on horseback, with shield and spear.
- Reverse: On its perimeter it has the legend FIDEM LEGESQUE FIRMARE IMPERII SUI STUDIUM (LOYAL AND DILIGENT WITH THE LAWS ESTABLISHED IN THE EMPIRE)
- The artistic quality of the medal is very high, made using a personal style with great ease, achieving harmonic and expressive effects in the high reliefs. In the Obverse scene, the spectator is introduced to the tragic environment of the moment of death.
- Both the Obverse and the Reverse are in a perfect state of conservation, with no appreciable wear.
- We have not found any Contrast or Badge on the Medal that provides us with the identity details of their authors.
- The passage of time, in its more than 40 years, has given the original treatment applied to the Medal, a beautiful copper patina.

Comments:
- The Hebrew name "Ya"akov" was latinized as "Iacobus", which became "Jacomu", emerging in the east of the province as "Jacme", giving rise to "Jaume" in Catalonia and "Jaime in Aragon. Hence Iacobus I appears on the Medal, which corresponds to Jaime I.

- Although it is a medal that can be found, they are generally in poor condition.

- Both the Measurements and the Weight are approximate.

- Very interesting as a collector"s item and as a decorative element.

- Because differences in shades between photos and reality are inevitable, it must be kept in mind that the tones of the colors of the photos are not exactly the same as the tones of the real colors.

- The Object presents the wear typical of its time, as well as some stains. It has small flaws.

- The data provided here are unconfirmed personal opinions.
