Description:
Oil on rectangular table, representing the bust of a woman. It is signed in its lower right corner, illegible probably French painter of the early S. XX. On the back of the table there is a stamp in the shape of a painter's palette, probably from the marketer's house, where you can read 'Paris'. It also has some notes in pencil and a signature. In addition, the number 52 is marked with a white chalk, which may correspond to a possible auction. The traces of the painting are of a magnificent invoice and very high quality of execution, with a balanced composition, all made with very attractive subdued colors and brushstrokes of great ease. The image transmits to the spectator, in a resounding way, an instant of concentration. The contrasts of lights are treated with great skill. As can be seen in the photos, the varnish is rusty, so if a cleaning was carried out, the colors would appear a lot.
It has many chips, in which the paint has skipped, probably due to poor preparation of the board and poor quality of the oil used. It may also have influenced bad preservation. The oil has been repaired in a very traditional way. In spite of this, it presents as a whole a result, with an aspect in general very acceptable. The framework is recently made. The measurements are approximate, because the frame icon has not been removed. Very interesting as a collector's item and decorative element.
Comments: Due to the fact that the differences in tonalities between photos and reality are inevitable, we must bear in mind that the color tones of the photos are not exactly the same as the tones of the actual colors.
