Description:
Spectacular iron handcuffs. The handcuffs are joined by two rings and a double central swivel, which prevents them from being screwed. The key is marked 2, probably to indicate the size of the handcuffs. To open them, the key is screwed until it releases the pin. To close them, unscrew the key until it is released. The wives have been executed in great detail, having finished well all their terminations, and taking care of security in all its aspects, in the hinges as in the locks and in the union between wives. These type of wives have been elaborated for a long time with the same typology, so we could very well be in a piece that could easily be traced back to the 15th century or the 16th century. Only the mark of nº2 can make us think of the S. XVII. Or the S. XVIII. It is a very rare piece to find, very interesting as a piece of collection. Spectacular in an illuminated alcove, with a minimalist decoration. Because the differences in tonalities between photos and reality are inevitable, it must be borne in mind that the color tones of the photos are not exactly the same as the tones of the actual colors. It presents the own attrition of its time, as well as some stains. It has small damages. The data provided here are unconfirmed personal opinions.
