Description:
Nice brass compass for coupling a pencil, which is adjusted by means of a threaded ring, from the Second Half of the 19th century. It has the inscription "HELIX REGISTERED MADE IN ENGLAND" on the threaded ring.
The compass has enough quality, compared with others of this type.
There are very few bars of this type that have a trademark, since they were usually aimed at school children, and they were of very low quality, while the one we are dealing with is manufactured quite perfectly.
The conservation is very good, and especially the tip of steel that has very little rust. The patina of the brass is perfect and admirable. It is rare to find with this quality.
Very interesting as a collection and decorative piece. Spectacular in an illuminated niche, with a minimalist decoration.
