Description:
Circular medal die cut in brass and silver. The thickness of the medal itself, not counting the ring, is 0.6 cm.
Obverse: Virgin of half body, with the crossed arms in the chest, orlada by rays, on a fund of clouds that appear in the lateral ones, and of which four heads of angels with the face of boy appear. The signature "AM" appears in high relief, to the right of the perimeter of the lower third.
Reverse: on a plain background, on the perimeter is inscribed the motto "Mariana Congregation of the Immaculate" * "School MM. Concepcionistas". In the center has an oval, crowned as meaning of being Queen and Mother. Inside the oval, the symbol of Mary "AM" is inscribed, Letter A interlaced with the letter M. Its meaning is Ave Maria. On the lower part of the back, and on the outside of the oval, the letters MTI are inscribed, probably the initials of the Editor.
The quality of the medal is very high, both in its high relief and in its execution. The medal is pretty scratched, mainly on the back. The silver is worn, most significantly at the most outstanding points. The patina you have, due to the time elapsed, is very attractive.
A Marian Congregation is a group of Catholic faithful, in this case linked to the College of the Mother Conceptionists, although most of the Congregations are linked to the Society of Jesus.
