Rectangular carpet with Tabriz Mahi design, made in the Punjab, northwest Pakistan, adjoining with Kashmir, Australian wool colored with natural dyes, which gives it a silky touch with matt shine. It is knotted by hand with a high knot density, which gives it great durability, and allows a high definition of the drawings. The Tabriz Mahi design has its origin in the north-west of Persia, based on natural forms and avoiding geometric medallions, achieving great beauty and balance. The field has three colors. Be dark the central medallion with a rhomboidal shape, light beige in the intermediate rhomboidal and navy blue stripe in the outer rhomboidal fringe. In the corners the brown color predominates, with an external strip of dark beige. The border has a dark beige outer edge, the main edge is light beige and the inside edge is dark. The whole carpet is full of small floral drawings, twinned with small geometric figures, forming an authentic filigree. The overall result is very pleasant, with subdued drawings and light colors prevailing. The state of conservation is very good, with a minimum age and being practically unused.
The measurements are approximate. Very interesting as a collector"s item and decorative element. Spectacular on a wall as a tapestry.
