Description:
- The books are not illustrated. The Law of Nations was considered to be an authentic manual of diplomacy. Some precepts of the work justify the European invasion of other territories, based on the natural law which obliged man to cultivate the land and at the same time allowed the use of other people's land when his own was not sufficient.

- All four volumes with water paper covers. Two respect leaves in the first and second volumes, and without respect leaves in the other two volumes. Title page. Proverb. Compendium. Translator's warning. Chapters. 1-2 and 3 with Index. Fourth volume has table and errata. Respect sheets.
Book Description:
- Sewn bindings of very good execution, with guillotined cuts, from the First Half of the 19th Century.
- Luxury parchment binding in the first two volumes. The third and fourth volumes are in Spanish paperback.
- The text in single-colour printing in black, very good ink, with good stamping, well centred and with good margins.
- Book printed on tan paper, of medium thickness and good quality.
- Covers in parchment, with browned paper. And covers in Spanish pulp with paper a little browned.
- Stamping on the spine, in all four volumes.
Conservation and Damage:
- General condition: Good.
- Sewn binding in very good condition.
- Cuts very well preserved and with minimal soiling.
- Text pages are in good condition in the first, second and fourth volumes. In the third volume, pages 47-48 have a small hole at the top, so we have made photocopies of the missing text inside the book.
- In the second volume there are some dark stains, which have darkened some of the pages both in the first part of the book and in the last part, without affecting the text.
- The covers of the third and fourth volumes have rubbed edges.
- There are small rust stains.
- The book has not suffered external aggressions such as humidity, insect attacks, rodents, etc.
- The book shows wear typical of it's time.
Comments:
- Both the Measurements, as well as the Weight, are approximate.
- The tones of the colours of the photos are not equal to the tones of the real colours.
- The book for sale is the one that corresponds to the photos. The description is not a detailed exposition of the book.
