Description:
Beautiful rule without scale of fixed length, so it is not graduated with a scale. Probably its length responds to a measure in disuse and has been used in a geographically specific area.
The rule measures a total of 208 mm, including the irregular ends of the ends, without which its measure is 206 mm. We could not specify to what type of measurement the 206 mm or the 208 mm long the rule may correspond.
This type of rules, for fixed length measurements, have been used from remote times to the present, and with the most diverse materials, although they were usually made of wood.
Although we put the rule in the First Half of the nineteenth century, it could have much more seniority.
The rule that concerns us, presents numerous black ink spots, so it must have been used at some time to perform tasks with the presence of ink. One of these possibilities is that it was used to align printing types. The edges of the rule have different notches, which indicates that it has also been used as a guide to make cuts.
This type of rules are scarce in the market. Very interesting as a collector"s item.

Comments:
Because the differences in tonalities between photos and reality are inevitable, keep in mind that the color tones of the photos are not exactly the same as the tones of the actual colors. The piece presents the wear and tear of its time, as well as some stains. It has small flaws. The information provided here are personal opinions not contrasted.
