Description:
Beautiful frame with mirror that is preserved original in its entirety. By the contrasts that are conserved, it could be placed at the end of the S.XIX, and realized in Birmingham, England.
It has the following inscriptions: one is illegible, another is an "Anchor" and the other is a "T". They are like contrasts of silver and "Filled" as a possible signature, although the last two letters are not well defined.
The angels are made of paste, and plated with a sheet of silver. The back and the support will possibly be made of wood, covered in green velvet.
The plating of the angels has jumped in different parts, being the most significant faults, those detected, those that have been photographed.
Namely, on the left leg of an angelfish, located on the right; on the right leg of an angelfish, located to the right of the base; on the right knee of the venus, located at the base; in the left leg of an angelfish, located to the left of the base and in the background between the former angelfish and the venus.
The bottom of the frame is painted with glitter, which has been worn in the most prominent parts by the rubbing. The whole patina is very good.
Very interesting as a collection and decorative piece. It is rare to find this type of mirror frames, all original, with such good conservation and patina.
