Description:
- Bronze medal with golden patina, issued in 1976, commemorating the Fiftieth Anniversary of the death of the architect Antonio Gaudí Cornet (Reus 06/25/1852 - Barcelona 06/10/1926).
- Obverse: The Bust of Antonio Gaudí is represented, with his signature on the right, in his mature age, with a serious gesture and a deep gaze. Expression that transmits to the viewer a worried spirit, introducing it to the transcendence of the now and the moment of death.
- Obverse: Above Antonio Gaudí"s signature is engraved the number 50, with a small cross on the top of the vertical bar of number 5, and a lower case i above number 0.
- Obverse: On the left, over the shoulder of Antonio Gaudí, the signature N. Ortiz is engraved.
- Reverse: The Shield of the City of Barcelona is represented, on which the Pontifical Shield has been superimposed.
- Reverse: To the left of the Shield, the Letter and Number R16 are engraved inscribed in a small rectangle.
- Reverse: On its perimeter it has the legend "ANTONIO GAUDÍ CORNET" - "REUS 25-6-1852 + BARCELONA 10-6-1926"
- The Medal is most likely made by the sculptor "Nicolau Ortiz Serra" (Vilanova y Geltrú 1925 - Reus 2009), achieving a very high artistic quality, made with his personal style of great ease, by means of magnificent high reliefs with harmonic and expressive effects . Nicolau Ortiz Serra made important sculptures, such as "Blume" in Barcelona, "Rusiñol" in Sitges, "Pau Farinetes" in Barcelona, or the "Indian Giant" in Reus, among many others.
- Both the Obverse and the Reverse are in a perfect state of conservation, with no appreciable wear.
- With more than 40 years, the original treatment applied to the Medal, the passage of time has given it a beautiful golden patina.
- Different numbered and limited runs were made, with different finishing patinas. They are distinguished by the Letter that accompanies the Numbering of the print run. As it has been possible to investigate, and with the utmost caution in this regard, for which we do not assure that this was the case, it seems that the Letter O corresponds to a copper patina, the Letter E corresponds to a dark gray patina, the Letter Z corresponds to a natural bronze patina, and the Letter R corresponds to a golden patina.

Comments:
- Although it is a medal that can be found, the ones with the darker patina are generally more common, with the gold patina being the rarest.

- Both the Measurements and the Weight are approximate.

- Very interesting as a collector"s item and as a decorative element.

- Because differences in shades between photos and reality are inevitable, it must be borne in mind that the tones of the colors of the photos are not exactly the same as the tones of the real colors.

- The Object presents the wear typical of its time, as well as some stains. It has small flaws.

- The data provided here are unconfirmed personal opinions.
